THE STRATEGIES OF MULTIMEDIA JOURNALISM RADIO IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL: NEW GENRES, FORMATS AND ABILITIES OF THE ALL NEWS RADIO IN AN ENVIRONMENT OF CONVERGENCE.

This project aims to study the media narrative strategies used by radio stations all news gauchos. The proposal is to understand how the process of media convergence has changed the doings, genres and formats of radio journalism, and point to the new skills that should make the communicator to work in this medium. Today, in Brazil there are few stations operating in all news system. In Rio Grande do Sul can be found with this profile, the Gaucho AM Radio, AM Radio Guaíba, CBN Radio and FM Radio BandNews. The idea is to aim for an overview of the upcoming all news radio stations in the state. Besides the interviews, analyzed the final product will be available on the web page itself and the site of the stations in question, as detailed below.

COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES, VISIBILITY AND LEGITIMACY IN SOCIETY LOGICS MEDIATED

This project emphasizes the fact that the information and communication technologies and their social uses have altered the possibilities of seeing and being seen, the distance to interact, to represent and identify the real phenomena that impact the processes of institutionalization and obtaining legitimacy of practices and organizations, including the media field itself. The proposal takes as its object the communication practices that are supported by digital technologies, whose circulation of information processes are characterized by overcoming the dichotomies between transmitter / receiver, medium / message, and new flows of communication that seem to favor the interaction and individuality . Theoretically looking tense, given the current context, the notions of legitimacy (Berger and Luckmann (1997), and visibility (Foucault, 1986), seeking to understand them from the perspective of a new ambience and the process of media coverage of contemporary society, in which the media seem logical regulate social interactions (Sodré, 2002).

HYPERTEXTUAL STRUCTURES AND GENRES IN CYBERJOURNALISM: A HYPERTEXT LINKING, CONVERGENCE, WEB INTERFACE AND ENVIRONMENT

SELF-PROMOTING ACTION: STRATEGIES AND SETTINGS USED BY RBS TV

The self-promoting Action project: strategies and settings used by RBS TV continues the investigations that have been developed by the researcher, in previous projects on the promotional televisual discourse. MEDIA REPRESENTATIONS AND SOCIAL STIGMAS

The project goal is to recognize and reflect on the effects of meaning in the narratives of the print media as reinforcing or questioning of social stigmas. The horizon of globalization has several attractive possibilities: easy flow of consumer goods, economic and cultural exchanges, mutual understanding and international movements of populations hitherto segregated by the borders of nation-state. Defining the notions of social stigma are those that can be identified by finding the reality marked by urban and rural violence, terrorism, social exclusion and legal contraventions. The stigmata, or invariant categories, not repeated in terms of content, but joint in relation to a structure.

THE DOCUMENTARY CONTEMPORARY GAUCHO: MEMORY AND IDENTITY (1995-2010)

From quantitative analysis and qualitative research seeks to trace the path of the current production of documentaries in Rio Grande do Sul, in order to understand what contribution to the vitality of this genre of cinema in the last 15 years in the state. To what extent, the non-fiction film has been or not a lever to fictional productions in the state of Rio Grande do Sul? Or, on the other hand, if this production is serious challenges today is to consolidate the regional and national film market? The objective of this research is to present an overview of current documentary production in Rio Grande do Sul, showing its main aesthetic and identity.

GAUCHIDADE AS TONE AND IDENTITY: THE PRODUCTION OF RBS TV

This project proposes to examine the televisual production carried out by regional affiliates of major broadcast networks and the impact of national patterns of production network mother about these local products. Focuses attention on the achievements of RBS TV, a network of southern stations affiliated with the Globo Television Network (TMN) in order to examine the communicative and discursive strategies used by her to give identity to its production, among which stands out, this is the assumption, adoption, so extensive and repeated in a tone combinatorics, responsible for the effects of gauchidade sense that pervades all of the programs carried out by it, regardless of genre conventions and belief systems of the products offered, and responsible, in large part, this is another option, the appeals and calls each one of these products makes their interlocutors. AUTHORITY, WITNESSING AND OTHERNESS IN JOURNALISTIC DISCOURSE OF ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTERS

The project aims to analyze how the event of environmental disasters is built from the standpoint of the discourse of testimony and comparing it with the speech from the authorities and experts in order to highlight the role they fulfill and the views that are affiliated, from concepts such as authority, knowledge and experience in journalistic discourse in print magazines.

IDENTITY AND DIFFERENCE: BETWEEN THE WALLS OF THE MULTICULTURAL MEDIA AND SCHOOL

The project addresses the issue of identity and difference as a problem and a social construction, but also the media. The overall objective of the project focuses on analyzing how identity and difference are represented narratively, the media and reproduced in different school environments. Using dialectically, the theoretical construction and analysis of a corpus-reference consists of audiovisual products that address the theme of multiculturalism, the study aims to research the meaning of identity and difference to young people from the poorer classes of the South’s Public Schools Brazil.

REPRESENTATIONS AND YOUTH TELEVISION: A STUDY ON THE POWER OF CLASSIFICATIONS

The research problem is to answer the question: what is the role of imagination in the development of television representations about the lifestyles of the classes and the consequent classification of players through the youth displayed signs of social distinction (within the values, behavior, appearance )? The main objective of the project is to investigate the conflicts and complementarities between television, family and school in shaping the imagination of the young about the modes of representation of class divisions and how they are manifested in the intergroup relationship.
